Life in the Swiss Alps is about slowing down and taking the time to enjoy our world and each other. This is not a travel blog but an attempt to share a disappearing Swiss alpine lifestyle with readers who are concerned about their children's future and who are curious about life in one of the most beautiful and efficient places in the world.

It features articles on: food, culture, health, parenting, education, green living, habits, spirituality as well as a little bit of history and politics mixed in.

So far, while trying to dig up my Swiss roots, I have observed 50 things about Swiss mountain people.

P.S. My father Willy Oehrli was a Swiss mountain guide, ski teacher, stunt man, father, and artist. He died in an avalanche when I was five years old. If you have any information you could share with me about his life, I would be very happy to hear from you. Click here to contact me.

Swissify - v. Variant of swissification (noun) - to become or cause someone or something to become Swiss.
